Ooooh! Thank you so much for scanlating this series! I’ve read a lot of manga by now, and this is definitely one of my favourites. “Delicious” is absolutely a fitting word. I look forward to seeing more from you! Thank you for your hard work! :D

You know, I’ve just noticed that your translations are, like, TWO VOLUMES AHEAD. Holy crap! Your translators must be gods! In fact, I’m sure they ARE gods! (Fair warning - do not tell me their residential addresses, or I will kidnap them and force them to work on any manga of my choice. Lol.)
Anyway, much love for this release as well. Please give my endless thanks to the brilliant people of your scanlation team, including but not limited to your Pantheon of god-like translators. *_*

I made a mistake and watched the japanese drama based on this manga T___T. It was a bad thing and I should have never done that. But thank you so much for the newest chapter !! Cannot wait to see how the love relationship gets more tangled from now on. xD
Comment by pyo — January 29, 2010 @ 9:28 pm
OMG, Simpleton! Thanks you so much for your compliments! m(_ _)m I am not worthy.
Let’s squash that right there - as the translator, I’m totally dependent on the amazing editors at Wingtip - props go to them! And then we’ve got the BEST of the best scan cleaners and type-setters, who deliver the goods every time.
And of course, Chihaya is the real goddess behind Wingtip, who gave me a chance to work with this amazing project. And these last two volumes have been the work of the last SEVERAL months, so it’s not nearly a breakneck speed as you’d imagine!
Pyo - LOL! I saw the first ep of the drama, and I couldn’t handle it, I was laughing too hard. I’m glad it seems so different!
REMINDER: Check out the forum to post your thoughts as things heat up in the OK kitchens! ;P

My dearest Momoe-chan… *affectionate sigh*
My heart feels like crying at the struggling dilemma of her sweet & gentle heart.
It’s the terrible fate of unrequited love and being second best in someone else’s heart.
I truly am very thankful & appreciative to see her finally deciding with resolute determination that she’s to leave Petit Lapin for greener pastures, without needlessly aggravating her delicate soul so achingly. *warmest smile*
I look forward to witnessing the phenomena of an extra~ordinary FEMALE chef~!! Maybe she could surpass Oda-san successfully? :D
Thank you, Wingtip team for all your superb effort in scanlation~! *confettis*

Momoe is growing up!!! :’)
I liked this series in the beginning but now I love it. I thought I’d just read it for some quick entertainment and romance, but now I’ve really fallen for Momoe’s determination and growth as well as the plot. I can’t wait to see the next chapter, thank you!!!
These last few chapters have been my favorites thus far, I wish there was some way to ‘Favorite’ or ‘Bookmark’ them without just leaving them saved in a corner of my disk drive. :P

Ohhh man! I totally understand Miki, but…she’s super mean, trying to cover up her own flaws with false confidence and jealousy for Momoe, just because she can be her own person! People can’t help it if they’re sensitive, that’s not being greedy.
That being said…help this sensitive person out! Double release for us too! Please please please pleeeeaaassseee!

Thank you soooo much for making this a regular proyect, I loved it when I found it in onemanga.com, but I was so upset to find nobody was scanlating it regularly, it was like: who knows when is going to be the next time I got the oportunity to read new chapters of these…
I’m so happy, and thankful too :)
Hope I can keep reading Oishii Kankei soon.
Congratulations for your great work on this series (I havent read others yet ^^u)
Ps: I hate Miki, she’s so empty, she doesnt have a real feeling for anything, it seems like that, is like she trow herself away for keeping up with some threats someone placed on her, telling her that’s reality, without letting her know the good side of life, so she took all the weapons and went to a battle where there’s no one to fight, so she takes it over Momoe, who is walking at her own pace and keeping her dreams alive. But it is true, after all, what the waiter said… That she’s staying behind, but it doesnt gives Miki and excuse to bully her :S

wow! I just read about the scanlations problems, please do tell us if you decide something about this, I really love this manga, and others you have translated, I would be disheartened if I couldn’t finish them. I do understand the position of the publishers, but they do have to understand the position of the readers. I live in Ecuador and I will stay here, is my home, but I havent found many places where I can buy manga. They exist, but they dont import much, books are expensive anyway and bringing them here is more expensive (I was a wannabe writer and I am an active reader, but I cannot read so much as I want because of that, and I did research and for my country it is really expensive to bring books, more when are things like manga, which are read only by a minority of people… We do not have a ‘japanese sense’ like I call it, we are not big readers and most people don’t difference between japanese or chinese or even taiwanese, so… it’s a bad combo. And what they bring are things like Naruto or Rouroni Kenshin, Ranma, classical and big hits in the world… Not things like Oishii Kankei…
I really appreciate your work, and the mangakas and the publishers’ work too. Its important, but they have to understand our position, not all economies are the same and even if I had money from my work, I wouldn’t be able to buy it all at the same time, or they would not bring things that are not sellers. some of it are not business here, they’re not profitable and that is something they should understand too. Not all the readers are north american. It would be great that all of us would be able to get what we want and still be ok with the others, I do not think you’re getting big profit of this, at least, i have not given you anything for this, except my thanks and my congratulations for your great work, wishes for you to continue and be well.
Please, I beg you, continue your hard work, good luck… and again: so many thanks :D

Thank YOU so much for doing this project! It’s a lovely piece, really. To be able to see Momo mature in life is wonderful; it teaches me a lot of things. This is what mangas should be like: entertaining and inspirational at the same time. I guess Oldies are Goodies is a true saying, after all. =D

MOMOE-CHAN,YOU WHORE! Stop hopping around other people’s men!
KANAKO-SAN, YOU DOUBLE WHORE! You are mean and know nothing of cooking or respecting other people’s jobs!
ODA-SAN, YOU IDIOT! That’s not the way to treat a jealous girl!
Moore Oishii Kankei! MOOORE.
Comment by Mariana — October 9, 2010 @ 7:15 am
lol, but Mariana, you forgot one thing, she’s turning Kanako-san is turning into her mom. She’s such a hipocrite (sp?) anyways, I love this manga!!! don’t think I could live without reading my dosage of Oishii Kankei, lol. Plus there’s the fact that Oda-san’s too dense about Momoe-chan’s feelings for him while Kanako-san is hyper-aware and faaaaar too jealous. this entire manga would be good for a usage in a psychology class to disect…*tutoring someone in Psychology so that’s why that popped up, ugh*

Forgot to add that it’s because of this manga that I’ve started to incorporate different foods in my cooking…even though I’m limited to ramen and celery… ^^;

@Render9 - LOL! So you’re adding ramen to your celery instead of celery to your ramen! Now that’s thinking outside the box! ;)

I think I’m going to cry….I just wish Oda-san would get his head out of his butt and see Momoe-chan for who she is (aka: his soulmate) poopy-head
Comment by karin — October 23, 2010 @ 3:08 am
Gosh! It was awfully unpleasant to come across Mariana’s comment. Totally terrible in cooking taste.
Oh, goodness. She’s completely childish in her thinking perspective. Hmph(s), it’s rather too obvious that she never ever did experience the cruel pains of love. Who knows she’d end up eating her shallow words humbly once love bit her so HARD? *heh* ;)
After all, anyone could see easily that Momoe & Kanako were really NO cheap whores.
Momoe just wanted to spend bits of memorable & precious time with Oda. She just couldn’t help herself, still nursing the most tender passion & love for him in her deepest secret heart. She’s a honorable lady, orchestrating something simple with her deepest longing within the respectable boundaries of relationships. So she never intended to even cause disquiet/damage in Oda’s relationship with Kanako.
Kanako was a sophisticated lady, carrying deep insecurities for a long time. Ironically, she had no confidence in Oda’s true love. She was actually the one who caused devastated damages to her solid relationship with him.
Since it’s utterly impossible that one can really see something deep & hidden in the other’s heart, so I think that something was definitely wrong with her psychologically. That’s why Oda was completely thrown off by her assertive accusation in utter confusion. He didn’t treat her trivially as Mariana erroneously implied. He did try his best in dealing with her over-reactive emotions.
In Momoe & Oda’s warm gaze to each other, it’s obviously clear that they had a strong bond as the master & his former apprentice. As well, they respected each other genuinely because they’re both full-time chefs in their admirable capability.
It’s how it inevitably led Kanako to jump rather too quickly to all sorts of conclusions in chaotic fear & neurotic anxiety.
True, Oda was somewhat dense in a guy’s mind. However, he’s not really a stupid idiot, given his razor-sharp intelligence. Unfortunately, he couldn’t really see Momoe’s secret feelings beneath the surface of her cheerful bouncy. :|
Regardless, I truly look forward to seeing the gradual development of Oda x Momoe’s close bond changing into something beautifully meaningful. :D
Thank you, the Wingtip Cafe team for your enduring hardwork!
Really, it’s a most amazing story that I’ve ever read in my life. It’s generated fuzzy pulses in my blood with warmest gentleness & tenderest sentiments. It reminded me gently of hope & positive beliefs. Quite inspirationally encouraging.
Many thanks!
Comment by La Jazz — October 28, 2010 @ 5:04 pm
OMG
La Jazz is amazing! She was so accurate about the characters and their relations.
I’m a cook apprentice and a food lover so this manga is really something worth reading. But it’s been weeks since the last release >_<.
I suggest another manga worth reading while we wait: Kimi ni Todoke. I’m not sure if I can put the site link here, but you can visit mangareader for it.
Comment by Walder — October 28, 2010 @ 11:58 pm
Ahhhhhhh love this series! I love Momoe and her learning curve. It’s amazing to watch the detail in the story and the artwork!
I’m conflicted with the couples in the story ~ I would love Momoe to be with who she loves, but I just can’t imagine her with Oda T_T. I think Kaoru is actually a good option… haha I’ve been itching to say that for a while XD
Thanks for the Scanlations - the quality is fantastic as far as I can tell, so thank you so much and good luck for the rest! xx
Comment by Bladepanthera — November 21, 2010 @ 12:45 pm
It’s so obvious that Momoe is the other half of Oda ~_~ I never liked Kanako from the start, she’s a cold woman. Anyway, I’m earning extra hours from university just writing about this manga!
Comment by Walder — November 23, 2010 @ 2:16 am
Wow!!! What a fantastic c53! Quite a very exciting ride-coaster~!! :D
I SO love Momoe-chan’s courageous declaration of love for Oda-san, despite her awareness of the possibility of being tearfully hurt & rejected. Wow… she’s purely sweet & serene with earnest self-confidence.
Hm… those who couldn’t imagine/don’t favor Oda/Momoe pairing that much, please just wait & see. ;)
U will see a very interesting, eye-opening development of Oda/Momoe love.
In actual fact, Oda/Momoe relationship is much, much more exciting & utterly fascinating with charming/cute twists, far surpassing Oda/Kanako’s. Like the perfection of exquisite dishes. I guarantee it resolutely.
Yea! Oda & Momoe are truly perfect for each other, despite the sharp contrast in their character/personality. :)
Wingtip team, thank you for working so diligently as ever! *hugs*

wow, this last chapter was amazing!! Finally the confession! after 8 volumes! I really do love this manga, I wish more people tried it out…I also saw tha japanese drama taken from this work, and it’s good, although not even comparable to the manga…thanks for translating, as always! I’m looking forward to see how keiji will reply! (as a matter of fact I am quite scared)

Thank you very much for your translation. The first publication in my country(Thailand) is about more than 15 years ago, and it never finished…like other non-copyright comics in an old day. I do not have internet and cannot read English and I am very young. I had no choice but have to forget about the comic I like…Now, you safe and make my day. I will looking forward to see your work. I cannot tell you how glad I am.
Thank you very much again.

Ahhhh I can’t believe what I just read in Chapter 54!
I just can’t help but feel bad for Kanako. I just feel so sorry that this is happening. Momoe and Oda may be destined for each other since the beginning, but after Oda made it clear he had someone I just couldn’t support a forceful breakup.
Love is such a terrible emotion sometimes. It can be so painful. Kanako has emotional issues to deal with, of course, but haven’t most of us been in her shoes before? Haven’t we all felt jealous and insecure? Haven’t we all had someone we loved unconditionally, maybe even borderline obsessed over? Maybe not everyone, but at some point in your life it’s bound to happen. Sure, in the end you may realize the person you held so dear to your heart really wasn’t right for you. You’ll move on. It doesn’t make the situation less tragic though. Sometimes realizing this just makes it all the more painful.
I’m anxious to see how this all plays out! This story is very good at keeping the tension.
Comment by Squid — December 13, 2010 @ 4:26 am
Things have taken a dramatic turn in the latest chapter. It’ll be interesting to see where things go. Kanako seeking out that other man (his name escapes me), Takahashi contemplating on the possibility that Momoe might leave and Oda back with Chiyo-sensei where Momoe has more opportunities to meet with him… Can’t wait to see what happens next! :D
Comment by aerysa — December 18, 2010 @ 1:28 pm
Sames here!? can’t wait to see what happens!? seems the tides are calming again!? but what would kanako do to momoe!? hope everything goes well!? i love this story so much :P
Thanx so much for all the hard work!? can’t wait to see what will happen nxt :P
Comment by Noofar — December 19, 2010 @ 2:59 am
Ahh, poor Kanako. She’s crazy and possessive, but it’s because Oda was her lifeline. And now that he’s gone, the depression and unhappiness that’s overtaken her mother is creeping back on her . . . The demons are her personal, inner demons. We all have them, we all know them, and at our darkest points they come back to us.
And I know Momoe is the protagonist and we’re all supposed to cheer for her, but really, she’s jumping on Oda like a vulture. If this was real life I think very few would sympathize with her actions here.
Comment by miyamo — December 20, 2010 @ 5:01 pm
miyamo, depending on what happens in chapter 56 between Oda and Momoe I’ll probably think you are right, but only if Momoe tries anything. Besides, Kanako watched her mom go down this road and still doesn’t recognize that she should get help, which is why right now i don’t sympathize with her. but as for the credits page….i was hoping for the recipes of the pictures of the food so i could try making them myself…..*is now hungry after looking at the food* lol

A whole MONTH? I’m biting my nails and hope that next week would come even one minute sooner. Thank you very much for this week’s chapter!
Such a good chapter- it’s sad that Kanako never succeeds in love with her mother or her lovers- or maybe her expectations and desires are not made clear at the beginning of the relationship, which ends up causing the end of one when her needs are not met.
Agree with the previous comment that Momoe is so childlike and innocent with her belief that everything will turn out okay if you try with all her might. But that’s part of her charm, as annoying as it might be sometimes. Go, Momoe, go!
Comment by Zannie — February 12, 2011 @ 5:56 pm
Great chapter - what a cliffhanger to leave us on! But she asked!
Comment by inzaratha — February 13, 2011 @ 2:21 am
The last comment I made was 364 days ago, nearly a year! I just wanted to once again express my love of this series-although I’m not sure how I’ll survive an entire month without a new chapter! One comment I must make: How does Kanako always come to the wrong conclusion? Momoe isn’t even going out with Oda because he still loves Kanako and Momoe is just waiting for him… And it’s not like the omiai was arranged by her! Urgh. If only she would open her eyes to her true surroundings and stop blaming Momoe for everything. :/
Comment by syk759 — February 14, 2011 @ 10:11 am
You don’t have to wait one month - we’re going to get out the next chapter faster than that. :D
Think from Kanako’s perspective: she’d do anything to keep her man; she assumes other women (such as Momoe, who is clearly interested in Oda) would too; Momoe ends up “coming between her and Oda” and then suddenly pops up into her relationship with Hasumi! Kanako has no idea about Hasumi and Momoe’s connection, it’s just so suspicious to her…
Comment by quixoticpixel — February 14, 2011 @ 5:40 pm
Kanako is CRAZY…. Just when things were getting better, she has to go all crazy on us. :(

I still can’t help but feel bad for Kanako, I do hope everything ends up well for her and she finds the help she needs. Not terribly certain if this is one of those “happy endings for all” type stories, but this is my favorite manga right now. Thank you for all the hard work!
Comment by Squid — March 12, 2011 @ 9:29 pm
i don’t like the situation. Yes, Kanako is the bad guy here, but how can she that bad? I hope Hasumi will come and help her get out of it. Poor her and pity on Momoe too. it could not be a happy ending if she will be Oda but Kanako devastated.. ackkk! my head hurt!
Comment by anne — March 14, 2011 @ 2:37 pm
YAY!!!!!!! finally!! someone told him!!!
Comment by Kairi — March 19, 2011 @ 9:09 am
So, will that guy man-up? I doubt it.
Comment by Noko — March 19, 2011 @ 12:16 pm
Well she told him didn’t she? I wonder what he will do, I don’t see a happy ending for Kanako though somehow, I don’t like her, but that is sad and I really don’t wish anything bad for her.
Comment by inzaratha — March 19, 2011 @ 12:52 pm
It seems to me that Kanako is getting better because she is facing her demons and did not escape the reality of life. She starts to think about what Chiyo baa said and when she asked someone to please help her, Momoe was there.
She even faced her mother and even though her mother might cause her grief but her mother also gave her happiness when she was a child and that feelings arise from deep within her when she try to kill her mother. She even willing to admit that her mother is precious to her in from of the doctor.
To me, personally it is a good starting point, and hopefully in time she is finally be able to love herself and finally get rid of the “demon” deep inside her and be truly happy
Comment by snow — March 19, 2011 @ 1:48 pm
please, don’t let yourself trapped, Kanako. I don’t like her, but I don’t want her to be that way. and Momoe, don’t stick your nose on other’s business. It creeps me out

Comment by snow — March 26, 2011 @ 12:04 pm
yeah, totally!! if i could be in charge of the ending i’d totally want momoe with takahashi!!
Comment by kairi — March 27, 2011 @ 4:45 am
I would definitely want to end Momoe with Takahashi, too, it is much more sensible.
Comment by bahar — March 27, 2011 @ 5:47 am
Momoe and Takahashi in no way belong together. That’d be like mixing lime and lemon - they blend in and don’t leave any distinct impression. But Momoe and Oda… now that is a complementary relationship! It’d be a perfect blend of strengths and weaknesses!

NOOOOOO TT___TT… it’s so sad when it’s over… you feel conected with those characters and wish you were real friends. That’s the kind of magic only great stories cause to us. Well, my mind was fed with this sweet piece of art. And sure I must thanks for this hard work for translating it. Thank you so much to spend your time to share good feelings with us.

I’ve only recently moved to reading josei over shoujo and I have to say, after reading Oishii Kankei I doubt I will ever go back. As a twenty-something, I really feel a resonance with these characters (you’d probably guess why). Aside from the story/art itself, which is a simple and refreshing style, I really loved your handling of the scans - every step! My favorite thing after reading each chapter became looking at the photo of the food at the end - I particularly liked the “epilogue” as well. Showing the connection between this fictional work and our everyday lives (OMG a bistro in Kyoto with the same name?! I have to go!) really made this a manga that I will treasure.

I download this manga in full from another site. However, after finish reading it, I know I have to crawl up here and give a sincere thank to wingtip for this rightly chosen and nicely done manga.
This is a very sensible manga. Firstly, the theme revolves on culinary, and it’s serious about it. I’ve read some manga labelled as haute cuisine but in fact the romance and other niggling stuff covers 80%. Oishii kankei, supporting by its gorgeous retro art with mouth-watering cuisine pictures, provides a very interesting and insightful view of the culinary world.
Secondly, the characters are very well-built. Each has his or her idiosyncrasy, and their stories and doing are realistic. We can feel the character’s determination, thoughts, ponder, emotion, sympathy, and mostly their professional improvement. Sensei has developed a very intricate plot, and all the characters’ relationships blend together. The romances are limited but very serious and realistic; we don’t get easy-come easy-go love like in idol dramas or many other shoujos. The main character has many supports - many of them from male friends - but only one love.
Thirdly, the plot is quite a smart one. The development of the characters is proper; there are the twist, moment of bitterness and also melting sweetness. I also find in this manga many touching and nice saying/philosophy behind a subtle, simple facade.
Fourthly, the art is so good. I’m totally into retro shoujo art like this. Depiction of delicious cuisine lives up to its name, really.
Overall, this one is highly recommended. Guess I’ll try more works of Satoru-sensei. Thanks Wingtip staff again!!! ^.^

I’ve downloaded and read this manga long time ago, but I’ve been re-reading “A Delicious Relationship” again and again for the past a couple of years. It is, without doubt, one of the best manga I’ve ever read and it’s not even an exaggeration. It’s realistic, it’s well-drawn, it evokes emotion, and, most importantly, it tells me an interesting story. Momoe is such a great main character and I admire her for her determination and hard work. I strive to be more like her every day. Thank you for your work on this amazing manga. It certainly brought changes into my life.
